College Application FAQ
What does it take for my application to be considered "complete?"
An application is considered complete when you have submitted the following documentation:
- the application
- official transcript
- official test scores (ACT or SAT - though this is optional for some schools)
- the fee
- letters of recommendation (if needed)
Do I have to complete my application in one sitting?
No! You can work on your application a little bit at a time. Be sure to hit SAVE any time you leave an application so you don't lose information.
I can't remember my application password! Can you help?
Unfortunately, we don't have access to your usernames or password for anything but Naviance. You will need to contact that institution to get help figuring it out.
When do I have to have my applications done?
It is important to check the deadlines for each institution so you do not miss any deadlines. It is safe to say you will be ok if you have your applications submitted by Thanksgiving.
If I am a musician, artist or theatre student, is my application process different than other students?
In most cases, if you are a musician, artist or thespian your application process will be the same as your peers. You will, though, want to submit a special resume detailing your musical, artistic, and acting accomplishments. Moreover, a portfolio or CD of your work is recommended. Some colleges, especially those with conservatories, may have special requirements and audition days. Look closely at the fine print in their applications.
I hit a question while completing my application, and I can't finish it without some help. Can someone help me?
Our suggestion is that you come up to the Counseling Suite to make an appointment. One of the counselors would LOVE to walk you through your questions. Remember you are always welcome in the Counseling Suite to work on your applications during your off hour, X period, lunch, or after school. You can use our computers if you don't have your laptop.
How do I report college/CAPP courses I am taking on my application?
The course names and numbers can be found in this document.
